Tomorrow night I will be teaching at Tango Passione, the new milonga organised by Vincenzo “Amortango” Muro, musician and DJ of Negracha and Shusheta.

The next edition of Shusheta at Dance Attic studios will take place on Friday 29th July. As usual there will be a General Level class from 7.30-8.30pm, with the milonga running afterwards until 10pm. Dance Attic Cafe will be open throughout, offering a selection of hot and cold food and beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

I will be teaching the Intermediate class from 7.45-8.30pm and this follows the Beginners class from 7.00pm. The milonga goes on until 11.45pm.

Thanks to Donald Hutera and Lilia Pegado of Chelsea Arts’ Collective for inviting me to participate in their four-hour extravaganza, Love Clock which took place on Saturday. It was a unique experience, intense but fleeting and permanently imprinted in time, and one that happily rolled back the borough to a less cynical time when the King’s Road was synonymous with creativity.

It was great to collaborate with Tara Pilbrow and Dylan Elmore in our ContacTango trio and alongside other talented dancers and performers, not to mention the wonderful musicians and vocalists led by Beatrice Bukantyte.

Argentine Tango social style workshop-Intermediate level.
Developing the steps of social Argentine Tango. This is not show or Nuevo style.
You will be taken through the steps in a fun way with Richard and Jane.
By the end of the session, you will be able to dance steps to make up a routine for the dance floor
3pm-3.15pm Pre class warm up ready for the lesson.
3.15pm-4.15pm Learning some basic Tango movement in lines and with partners. Including Giros and Ochos
4.15pm-4.30pm Break time with refreshments
4.30pm-5.15pm Tango Salon Developing an understanding of this dance and creating dance steps for social style. Continuation of social dance steps, focussing on feeling the rhythm and connecting with your partner.
5.15pm-5.30pm Guided practice time to sort out any areas of the workshop that need improvement.
Cost £20. This will not be endless exercises, walking around the room for an hour. We will help you to enjoy the dance experience. Numbers limited for the benefit of students.

For students based in London, there is a regular service from Euston to Bushey. Normally the 13:54 platform 9 train takes 18 minutes and the venue is 5 minutes walk. Return time 18:02 from platform 5 Bushey takes same time back. You can use Oyster card on this line. Buses from Edgware/Harrow 142/258 Grange Rd STOP
