A Simple Exercise For Tango Jumps

Here is an easy exercise for practising jumps that can be incorporated into a tango choreography.

Not to be confused with traditional salon tangos danced at milongas, tango escenario or stage tango is however a lot of fun and this is a step you can practice on your own at the barre.

The technique here begins with a plié with the impetus then coming from circular leg flicks, or boleos. It’s also a great workout for the feet and to improve balance and coordination 🙂

Tangolicious on YouTube!

You can now find Tangolicious on YouTube – As a free tango resource I’m uploading a variety of exercises from basic to more complex, that can be practiced between classes. For those without much time on their hands, why not try the thirty second shorts 🙂

A few minutes a day is all it takes to make a noticeable difference to your dancing and give you more confidence on the dance floor.

For in person group classes, I teach a regular 7.30pm Friday drop-in at Dance Attic, 368 North End Road, SW6 1LY. Private classes and wedding dance tuition are also available. Please visit http://www.tangolicious.co.uk for more details or email to tango167@yahoo.co.uk
